Description
A passionate, experienced, and skilled Agile Coach will work with a team of all maturity levels. The person will be responsible for igniting new agile teams and coaching high-performance teams to even higher levels across all technologies.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Support the team in achieving the objectives and improve the team’s long-term performance via coaching and encouraging continuous improvement in ways of working.
  • Coach the stakeholders through backlog refinement, backlog readiness, defining ready/done, writing user stories, supporting decision-making, and fostering continuous delivery of business value to end-users.
  • Supports coordination across a team of teams - Agile Release Train (ART)/Release Train Engineer (RTE).
  • Proactively identify and manage visibility around gaps, impediments, risks, and dependencies, recommending solutions.
  • Ensure the impediments are visible and tracked through to resolution, escalating when necessary.
  • Foster practices for identifying, tracking, discussing, and resolving cross-team dependencies within the team, taking ownership of dependency occasionally.
  • Use coaching and facilitation to enable the team to use dependency management techniques to drive delivery.
  • Monitor progress and impact over time by tracking, identifying, and improving delivery effectiveness metrics.
  • Cultivate, coach, and communicate with an Agile mindset, work within principles and values, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Improve performance and maturity of the team (e.g., reaction time and solutioning) by encouraging innovation, relentless improvement, and adoption of best practices.
  • Coach leaders and teams in lean-agile practices and mindsets to scale values and principles.
  • Advocate diversity of thought and demonstrate an open mindset.
  • Inspire a culture of trust and leadership in others.
  • Advocate a learning culture to drive continuous improvements and standardization.
  • Respectfully and purposefully challenge the status quo.
  • Drive collaboration and quality practices between Agile and product teams.
  • Ensure timely identification and prioritization of technical and business features.
  • Maintain compliance with software development life cycle (SDLC) standards across the team.
  • Ensure data integrity for the teams within Agile Management tools and compliance with SDLC audits.
  • Influence team without authority; engage Agile Coaches and leadership to drive change and influence beyond their own influence and authority.
Skills and Experience
  • 10 - 12 years of relevant work experience with a demonstrated track record of growing responsibility.
  • Expertise in facilitating Agile, Scrum, or other rapid application development teams.
  • Agile Certification (like Certified Scrum Master/SAFe Scrum Master) is a plus.
  • Good understanding of Agile, Scrum, or other rapid application development methods.
  • Thorough with SDLC methodologies and practice.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile project management tools like Rally and Jira.
  • Must have strong coaching and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex software features iteratively and reliably.
  • Deep understanding of Agile at scale or iterative development processes, including quality and testing best practices.
