Role and Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirement gathering, functional and technical design, development, testing, roll-out, and support.
  • Solve complex business problems by utilizing a disciplined development methodology.
  • Produce scalable, flexible, efficient, and supportable solutions using appropriate technologies.
  • Analyze the source and target system data. Map the transformation that meets the requirement.
  • Interact with the client and onsite coordinators during different phases of a project.
  • Design and build ETL jobs in a managed AWS environment.
  • Provide support and enhancements for the existing automation workflows and applications.
  • Perform SQL-based exploratory analysis using Apache Hive and Presto (AWS Athena)
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to gather requirements, identify operational shortcomings, propose technical solutions, and deliver production-ready outcomes.
  • Present results to the key stakeholders in the form of visualizations, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Effectively identify and prioritize support issues and respond with the appropriate level of urgency.
  • Maintain concise documentation in a version control environment.
Skills and Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or software development.
  • Expertise in AWS services including Data Pipeline, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.
  • AWS certification is extremely desirable.
  • Hands-on development experience in Python; experience in additional languages would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of version control tools, such as GitLab.
  • Thorough knowledge of SQL-based analysis and data architecture.
  • Prior experience of working in a Linux environment with good knowledge of shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Big Data applications, such as Hadoop.
  • Experience in using data visualization tools, such as Tableau and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to focus in a fast-paced workplace.
