Role and Responsibilities
- Establish testing as an integral part of the development process within cross-functional teams.
- Develop maintainable automated checks in collaboration with our development teams.
- Proactively suggest improvements in testing tools for better test coverage for automation.
- Detect and report defects and closely follow up to ensure the closure of issues.
- Assess and bring continuous improvements to the overall quality.
- Work closely with the development team to debug any issue.
- Participate in scrum calls with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to proofs-of-concept on the upcoming toolsets.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for the production defects and improve test assets.
- Work on refactoring the existing framework as per the requirement.
- Conduct performance testing using JMeter (Blaze meter), NeoLoad, and LoadRunner tools.
- Execute and analyze a variety of performance tests such as baseline, load, capacity, stress, volume, endurance, and other non-functional tests.
- Monitor application logs to determine system behavior.
- Provide technical assistance to improve system performance, capacity, reliability, and scalability.
- Perform root-cause analysis of performance issues and suggest corrective actions.
- Analyze the CPU utilization, memory usage, network usage, garbage collection, database parameters, and database reports to verify the application performance.
- Identify memory leakage, connection issues, and bottlenecks in the application.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Performance Test Engineer.
- Expertise in test planning, test estimation, test strategy, test case design, test environment setup, and test data setup, along with workload design, defect management, and configuration management.
- Good experience in Java and BeanShell scripting in JMeter.
- Knowledge of APM tools like New Relic, Grafana, and log aggregation tools like Splunk.
- Hands-on with web, desktop, mobile, and API-based applications and technologies.
- Good knowledge of test management software (Jira), source control systems (Git, Bitbucket), and build management tools (Maven, Bamboo, Jenkins).
- Must have expertise in SQL/MySQL queries and working in a Linux environment.
- Good understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, like App Engine, Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Datastore, and BigQuery is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of all phases of performance testing life cycle (PTLC), agile, and scrum methodology.
- Good communication skill and analytical skills.
