Description
GSPANN is looking for a Technical Delivery Manager who can lead the software system development process from ideation through long-term sustaining ownership, release, and keep the applications current with periodic releases.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead and work effectively in globally distributed small to medium-sized teams
- Drive development processes across multiple teams to create and maintain a holistic set of systems.
- Develop a set of systems to support the program, including data transfer services, backend software infrastructure, a reporting and analytics engine, and various parsers in collaboration with QA engineers.
- Adopt an agile approach for all software development and commit to a fast release schedule.
- Work with the Project Owners/Sponsors to confirm project scopes and goals, objectives, and business justification, secure project resources (people and budget), and reiterate the project mandate.
- Prepare a detailed project work plan and identify profiles for associated resource requirements.
- Create, maintain, and update key project documentation.
- Lead, monitor, and maintain project progress to ensure delivery of goals within the agreed time, cost, and quality constraints.
- Control and report progress to the Project Steering Group/Project Sponsor to manage any issues (reported or observed). Initiate corrective action where necessary to keep the project on track.
- Define an effective communication strategy for the project, including communicating and consulting with key stakeholders.
- Identify interdependencies between various stakeholder groups - ensure all risks are identified, mitigated, and communicated.
- Conduct regular code reviews to keep the codebase in compliance with rigorous code review standards.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure that all modules fit the proposed architecture.
- Take ownership, delegate assigned tasks with responsibilities, and participate in corrective actions to ensure closure or resolution.
Skills and Experience
- Mandatory 5+ years of experience in leading software development teams.
- Prior experience in Data Analytics project delivery or data platform projects is desirable.
- Expertise in Technical Project Management is mandatory.
- Should be committed to long-term sustaining application ownership.
- Familiarity with and ability to implement test-driven-development methodologies is desirable.
- Must have hands-on experience in multiple data solution design and data delivery methodologies.
- Good understanding of Big Data Solutions, including experience in Spark, Python/Scala, SQL, HBase, Kafka, and other tools in the Hadoop ecosystem.
- Experience in any of the cloud services, such as GCP, AWS, Azure
- Exposure to Git and Jira would be an advantage.
- Should be confident in conducting Research and Development (RnD) and Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs).
