Description
Role and Responsibilities
- Define project roadmaps while collaborating with product teams and leadership.
- Make decisions on priority, scope, and design to ensure lean and rapid deployment.
- Outline the risk profile, including appropriate mitigation plans and assigning stakeholder responsibilities.
- Provide detailed and transparent tracking of large, complex project budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct accurate variance analysis, comparing schedules, costs versus budgets, resources, and changes in scope.
- Facilitate communication with third parties, manage contracts and Statements of Work (SOW), and other relevant activities.
- Develop resourcing strategies that ensure optimal support for projects and daily operational activities.
- Offer team feedback and actively contribute to performance reviews.
- Oversee program communications at all levels across Technology and Business stakeholders.
- Ensure team backlogs are groomed and ready, following the "Playbook" documentation.
- Lead scrum ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
- Resolve impediments that hinder the team’s progress.
- Manage team velocity and identify opportunities to improve velocity, estimation, and quality.
- Safeguard the integrity of the team and its velocity against unnecessary external influences.
- Coach the team to continuously enhance communication, processes, estimation, quality, and velocity.
Skills and Experience
- A degree in Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software delivery or a related field.
- Experience in managing the delivery of projects that have had a measurable business impact by utilizing Agile, Scrum, or Lean methodologies.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of what it takes to deliver excellent software quickly.
- Engage effectively with Agile teams, showcasing strong understanding and experience.
- Candidate should have substantial experience coaching teams in backlog prioritization, story writing, and story estimation.
- Possess relevant certifications or equivalent experience, such as Scrum certification (ideally Certified Scrum Professional [CSP], at least Certified ScrumMaster [CSM], and preferably SAFe) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar project management credentials.
- Utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Slack effectively to get the job done.
