Who is the Client

A US-based company with annual sales of $5B that develops networking solutions, including routers, switches, software, and security products.

The Challenge

The client’s previous website was not mobile-friendly and lacked responsiveness. It had an aging design that made it difficult for marketers to update the website content quickly. These challenges were affecting the client’s ability to engage with new prospects and convert them into customers. The client’s goal was to deliver a contemporary web experience across all devices and browsers with quick support for frequent content updates.

The client wanted to revamp their website, introducing a new and responsive design, which could work seamlessly across different devices and browsers.

The Solution

GSPANN designed, architected, implemented, and deployed a new website for the client. We worked with the client to select and use OpenText TeamSite and LiveSite as their content management and website runtime platforms for the new website. We used the workflows within TeamSite and LiveSite that made it is easy for the non-technical stakeholders to manage components, templates, data, and pages without having any dependencies on the IT team.

We replaced an aging website with a contemporary web experience and technology platform. We created new page designs, associated templates, and functional components for the Products, Solutions, Campaigns, and Training section of the client’s website. We designed each page's user experience and functionality to define the page templates while leveraging both common and page-specific components. The content creation and update for page components were provided through an easy-to-use set of page-specific forms. We used Bootstrap, Angular, and Sass to support our Responsive Web Design (RWD) as the foundation for delivering the experience while using a mature content management system from OpenText for the content authoring and delivery platforms.

Beyond the design of the new user experience, several significant improvements were made to the website's technology foundation. We deployed proactive chat for all product detail pages with chat handover (if the agent of a locale is offline) using Salesforce live chat integration. Besides, we provided in-built security and protection for the website's webpages through Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML).

Business Impact

  • The new website is responsive on tablet, mobile, and desktop form-factors across different browsers.
  • A clean separation of content and functionality within the web templates enabled the marketers to focus on content, without worrying about coding.
  • Developed web components User Interface (UI) in Angular 5.0 framework and templates for web pages to reduce the time required for updating the website content.
