Role and Responsibilities
- Establish, manage, and administer app monitoring solutions across applications, platforms, and partner services.
- Create custom dashboards in Splunk and Dynatrace/New Relic based on analysis of underlying data.
- Ingest data from different systems into Splunk and Dynatrace/New Relic and create alerts based on defined thresholds.
- Manage Splunk and app monitoring tool upgrades.
- Define and configure app performance index (Apdex), key transactions, service maps, app set-up synthetic scripts, browser monitoring, etc.
- Collaborate with app development, network, infrastructure, database, and support operation teams to establish app monitoring solutions.
- Define and Implement app-specific monitoring components (KPIs) and scope of performance monitoring, and correlation dashboards.
- Enable the development team for profiling, tuning, and other performance engineering activities.
- Establish a monitoring framework for the support team, set up alerts, notification policies and dashboards, deployment monitoring, and reports.
- Provide solutions for optimizations and bottleneck identification.
- Conduct licensing for evaluation and POC for new components and user administration.
- Be the one who will be the only contact for all the monitoring tools implementation and maintenance.
- Implement and automate all deployments related to SRE components. (like SAI, New Relic infra agent, SignalFx agent) using Helm, Terraform, and Jenkins.
- Maintain end-to-end SRE deployment pipeline for all environments (like development, testing, and production).
- Develop Splunk and New Relic dashboards/alerts/connectors based on customer requirements.
- Connect with client teams to understand the requirements of monitoring their application and to ensure important metrics are being tracked and monitored.
- Provide all Insights and Analysis of what went wrong during the Performance Test using New Relic application and infrastructure monitoring.
- Monitor GCP Services like Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Data Fusion, Cloud Composer, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, etc.
Skills and Experience
- Expertise in Splunk and Dynatrace (preferred) / Prometheus / AppDynamics and other APM tools administration and solution design.
- Hands-on experience in Splunk as an admin and developer.
- Good understanding of data ingestion into Splunk.
- Prior experience in ITIL process and CI/CD environment.
- Knowledge of APM tools, best practices, implementation, and performance engineering concepts.
- Must know scripting knowledge for Shell, Python, etc. for automation, integration, and creation of monitoring components.
- Comfortable using REST API calls for designing solutions and managing New Relic features.
- Expertise in using third-party plugins and tools integration with webhook, keys, and scripts.
- Exposure to e-commerce business, functional, technical architecture, and workflow.
- Good understanding of GCP, Docker containers, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Kafka messaging, and SAP Hybris architecture.
