Role and Responsibilities
- Build deep knowledge of the business and understand the end-to-end customer journey.
- Use software development approaches to operations.
- Partner with stakeholders to improve the design, visibility, availability, scalability, and performance of services.
- Communicate availability to the team and manager.
- Efficiently automate manual processes, deep dive into incidents, and facilitate blameless post-mortems.
- Improve alert management, decision-making, analysis, and various optimization techniques by measuring data using standardized telemetry.
- Support planned changes with deployment and post-deployment monitoring. Create new dashboards or alerts as needed to monitor new changes in the system.
- Develop and deploy new tools to support systems and services in an automated fashion.
- Adhere to organizational service-level objectives.
- Build value-proposition presentations, case studies, and accelerators.
- Drive triage calls and bring logical closure of critical issues.
Skills and Experience
- 4+ years of experience in software development, technical operations, and running large-scale applications.
- 3+ years of work experience in Service Engineering, Support, or Operations.
- 3+ years of experience in developing or supporting KAFKA and debugging issues around KAFKA queues.
- 3+ years experience in setting up spark Jobs and debugging.
- Goof knowledge of data processing, cleansing, and verification.
- Must have a breadth of experience in software development, operations, and must actively practice site reliability principles.
- Expertise in writing Unix shell scripts, setting up Cosmos DB, and HBase.
- Should understand Azure to set up databases; Java, Spring, and Hibernate for quicker resolution of issues.
- Practice creative problem-solving skills to resolve cross-functional issues amidst the changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills; open to rotational shift.
