Description
GSPANN is seeking a Snowflake Developer/Lead who will thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced work environment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop apps in a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment using tools like Jenkins, circleCI Frameworks.
- Maintain the build and deployment process through the use of build integration tools.
- Design instrumentation into code using and integrating software and logging analysis tools like log4Python, New Relic, Signal FX and/or Splunk.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and publish case studies. Take accountability for maintaining program or project documents in a knowledge base repository.
- Identify accelerators and innovations.
- Understand complex interdependencies to identify the right team composition for delivery.
- Analyze production workloads and develop strategies to run the Snowflake database with scale and efficiency.
- Implement solutions with AWS Virtual Private Cloud, EC2, AWS Data Pipeline, AWS Cloud Formation, Auto Scaling, AWS Simple Storage Service, EMR and other AWS products like Hive, Athena.
Skills and Experience
- Hands-on working knowledge of Snowflake Architecture (Access Control, provisioning, etc.)
- Expertise in data transformation and processing using data build tools is mandatory.
- Mandatory work experience in a public cloud environment, particularly AWS.
- SnowPro Data engineering certification is a plus.
- Teradata and Snowflake experience is desirable.
- Expertise in source control, merging strategies and coding standards, specifically Bitbucket/Git, and deployment through Jenkins pipelines.
- Confident in communicating with business stakeholders and architects.
- 5+ years of overall experience in database/data warehouse development, including at least 1.5 years rigorously on Snowflake.
- Must have good experience working on Snowflake data warehouse in the AWS data ecosystem.
- Good knowledge of Snowflake utilities such as SnowSQL, Snow Pipe, Python, Tasks, Streams, Time travel, Optimizer, Metadata Manager, data sharing, and stored procedures.
- Experience working with REST and SOAP-based APIs to extract data for data pipelines.
- Hands-on in working with Hadoop and related processing frameworks, such as Spark, Hive, Sqoop, etc.
- Experience in working with real-time data streams and Kafka platform.
- Working knowledge of workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow design and deploy dags.
- Hands-on experience with performance and scalability tuning.
- Professional experience in Agile/Scrum application development using Jira.
